Adipic Acid (Nylon®)​

Adipic acid is a key intermediate in the production of nylon 6,6, where purity requirements are extremely stringent to ensure defect-free polymerization. The FUNDABAC® filter is used both upstream and downstream in the process. Upstream, it concentrates adipic acid crystals in nitric acid ahead of pusher centrifugation, replacing inefficient static decantation. Downstream, it plays a critical role in activated carbon treatment stages that remove trace organic and metallic impurities. The filter’s ability to handle slurries and separate activated carbon in a single, enclosed step makes it ideal for this application, reducing both operational complexity and disposal costs.

Aniline​

Aniline production often involves nitrobenzene reduction and requires effective solid-liquid separation to remove metal catalysts and byproducts from aqueous or organic process streams. FUNDABAC® filters provide an enclosed, automated solution to handle these fine particulates, ensuring high product purity and minimizing downstream fouling. Butane Diol​

In the manufacture of 1,4-Butanediol (BDO), catalyst separation and clarification of reaction slurries are essential to maintain downstream product quality. FUNDABAC® filters are used to remove suspended solids after catalytic hydrogenation or esterification steps. Their fully enclosed design improves safety in handling reactive intermediates, while the filter’s backflushable elements and heel volume recovery feature optimize yield and reduce product loss. Chlor Alkali​

In chlor-alkali production using membrane cell technology, brinepurity is critical. Even trace levels of suspended solids can damage themembranes and compromise process efficiency. FUNDABAC® filtersare used in the final brine polishing step, reducing solids to below 0.5ppm to protect the electrolysers. Their enclosed design, highthroughput, use of corrosion resistant plastic materials, and flexibledischarge options (slurry or dry) make them ideal for all kinds of salts(solar, vacuum and rock salt). Epoxy Resin​

Epoxy resin production involves multiple filtration steps to removecatalysts, pigments, and polymer fines. Ferric / Ferrous Chloride​

Glycol​

In glycol production and recovery, filtration is used to remove spentcatalysts, salts, or carbon fines that form during the reaction orregeneration steps. Lubricants​

In lubricant production, filtration is used to remove catalyst residues,additives, and insoluble particles from base oils and finishedformulations. Olefins​

Petroleum Resins (C5/C9)​

C5 and C9 petroleum resins are used in adhesives, coatings, andrubber compounding, requiring efficient filtration to remove catalystsand neutralization residues. FUNDABAC® filters replace filter pressesand sintered metal filters in multiple process steps, offering superiorperformance even with sludges that have high water content. Solidsare discharged as dry cake, minimizing product loss and simplifyinghandling. Polyols​

Polyols, including polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polypropylene glycol(PPG), require filtration after neutralization or catalyst removal steps.FUNDABAC® filters handle these viscous media efficiently, producingdry, non-sticky filter cake and supporting consistent product quality.Their enclosed design and ability to perform heel volume filtrationreduce product losses and limit manual handling. PPS​

Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) production involves catalyst-drivenpolymerization and requires effective solid-liquid separation to removeunreacted materials, salts, and metal catalysts. FUNDABAC® filtersare used in clarification steps throughout the process to ensure resinpurity and protect downstream thermal or extrusion operations. Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA)​

PTA production generates fine catalyst residues and organic solidsthat must be separated efficiently to meet product purity standards.FUNDABAC® filters provide high-throughput clarification of motherliquors and purification stages, enabling recovery of acetic acid orcatalyst solutions with minimal product loss. The closed, automatedoperation reduces emissions and operator exposure, while the abilityto discharge dry or slurry cake provides flexibility for recovery ordisposal processes.

Sodium Silicate​

Sodium silicate manufacturing often involves filtration of slurriescontaining unreacted silicates or impurities formed during thedigestion of silica. FUNDABAC® filters are well-suited for thisapplication due to their enclosed operation and ability to handleviscous, high-solids slurries. The system supports continuousoperation with backflushable filter elements and offers reliableclarification in both alkaline and high-temperature environments,improving product quality and plant efficiency.

Synthesis Gas​

In syngas production, particularly from biomass or coal gasification,filtration is used to remove char, tar, and catalyst residues fromcondensates or quench liquids. FUNDABAC® filters help protectcompressors, heat exchangers, and downstream catalytic processesby providing consistent removal of fine particulates. Toluene Diamine (TDI / TDA)​

TDA is a key intermediate in the production of toluene diisocyanate(TDI), manufactured via hydrogenation of dinitrotoluene. FUNDABAC®filters are used across multiple stages of the process: for catalystpreparation, recovery during hydrogenation, and final purification. Incatalyst recovery, the system operates in CONTIBAC® mode with slurrydischarge, while in final polishing, FUNDABAC® is used to filter andwash toxic mother liquors before dry cake discharge. The ability tointegrate washing, drying, and contained solids removal in one systemimproves product purity and supports safe handling of hazardousintermediates.
