A New Era in Single-Use
Filtration
Introducing our FUNDALOOP® filter, the first single-use, multi-cycle filtration system for safe, scalable, and efficient solid-liquid separation.
Designed to Perform Better Cycle After Cycle
FUNDALOOP® combines closed system operation with multi cycle efficiency to deliver reliable, high yield filtration. Its smart design reduces waste, protects product quality, and adapts easily as your process scales.
Self-Cleaning Backflush Keeps Performance High
The FUNDALOOP® regenerates its filter media after every cycle using a patented backflush step, preventing cloth fouling, extending bag life, and reducing plastic waste.
High Flow Rates Without Compromise
Thin filter media combined with filter aids (like diatomaceous earth) maintain low resistance and high flow rates while achieving high filtrate clarity.
Easy Scale-Up Without Changing Equipment
Scale your process from small to commercial volumes using the same FUNDALOOP® system, simply increase the number of cycles to handle larger batch sizes.
Multi-Cycle Filtration
How It Works
Cell culture fluid is pumped into the bag and filtered. Solids form a porous filter cake on the elements, which is covered with the filter cloth, while the clarified liquid passes through.
Once filtration is complete, pressurized gas compresses the bag, pushing remaining liquid (heel volume) through the filter for maximum product recovery. An optional cake wash can be applied.
Sterile liquid (e.g., buffer or WFI) is flushed in reverse through the filter elements. This expels the solids from the filter candles and therefore regenerates the filter cloth.
The discharge valve opens. Solids and residual wash liquids are removed from the bag. The system is now ready for the next filtration cycle.
A Smarter Alternative to Centrifuges & Depth Filters
Traditional harvest and clarification methods rely on centrifuges or multi-stage depth filtration setups, both with well-known challenges: fouling, high waste, low flexibility, and inefficient scalability. The FUNDALOOP® filter replaces these outdated systems with a fully enclosed, single-use solution that’s more efficient in speed, space, and scale-up procedure.

Heel volume filtration is an integrated process that enables FUNDALOOP® to recover the residual liquid (the “heel”) remaining at the bottom of the vessel after filtration. Instead of discarding this heel or leaving product behind, the system redirects it through a closed-loop spray design to maximize recovery.
How it works:
The heel is collected from the vessel’s lowest point and recirculated through a spray nozzle integrated in the filter cover.
A fine mist is evenly distributed over the filter elements, pushing the residual liquid through the existing cake using gas pressure.
This final step enhances product recovery without requiring additional handling or equipment.
This method can also be used to support efficient cake washing. The spray mechanism distributes the wash liquid uniformly, minimizing volume while maintaining high washing performance — an important factor in batch integrity and resource efficiency.
Why it matters:
Improves yield by recovering residual liquid
Minimizes waste and reduces environmental impact
Maintains batch control in a closed single-use system
Enhances cost-efficiency through liquid savings
