FUNDABAC® Filtration System for Rich MEG Treatment
Rich MEG Filtration in Action
DrM recently delivered a custom-engineered rich MEG filtration system for a major oil and gas operator in South East Asia. The process package is built around two FUNDABAC® candle filters, specifically designed for the treatment of Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG) used in offshore production and hydrate control.
In subsea and topside operations, MEG plays a critical role in flow assurance. However, the returning rich MEG stream is often contaminated with solids such as precipitated salts, corrosion byproducts, sand, sludge, and other fine particulates that must be removed before regeneration.
DrM’s fully automated FUNDABAC® filtration unit is engineered to handle this complex and variable solids load. With dry cake discharge, the system supports safe operation, minimal manual handling, and high-efficiency separation. Key benefits include:
- High removal efficiency of fine and slimy particles
- Adaptability to changing solids content over field life
- Closed system design minimizing operator exposure
- Robust performance in challenging upstream environments
This installation enhances system performance and reliability throughout the MEG regeneration loop, from wellhead return to downstream treatment, improving MEG recovery and reducing waste handling demands.
DrM’s modular and process-specific approach ensured on-time delivery and seamless integration into the client’s offshore operation.
