How does candle filtration support rare earth and critical mineral processing?
DrM Group has successfully delivered a FUNDABAC® candle filter for a customer in Australia, designed for use in a rare earth processing application.
Rare earth and critical mineral production place high demands on solid-liquid separation, particularly where fine particles, variable feed conditions, and stringent product quality requirements are involved. The FUNDABAC® system is well suited to these challenges, delivering clear filtrate, reliable solids retention, and fully automated cake discharge within a closed and robust design.
While this unit is dedicated to rare earth processing, the FUNDABAC® candle filter is widely applied across a broad range of hydrometallurgical duties. Typical applications include lithium conversion, as well as nickel, cobalt, copper, and other non-ferrous metal processes. The modular design allows scalability from pilot units to full-scale industrial installations, supporting filter areas of up to approximately 200 m².
This project further strengthens DrM’s global reference base in critical mineral and hydrometallurgical processing, supporting industries that underpin advanced manufacturing, electrification, and clean energy value chains.
